Architecture Department

The need of creating appropriate architecture to shelter man and his pursuits in relation to the space/place resources and time is a widely accepted and acknowledged program the world over.

We at KITS Ramtek understand the importance of imparting Architectural Education and the responsibility of creating architects well versed to shape a livable tomorrow.

B.Arch. Five year degree Course (Semester Pattern) of the R.T.M. Nagpur University. KITS Ramtek is approved and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA). It is offered at KITS since 1994 with an intake of 40 students per year.


ELIGIBILITY FOR B.ARCH. ADMISSION

Candidates who have passed standard XII (10+2) examination of the Maharashtra State Board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects, with aggregate 50% (for category students- 45%) and Qualified and/ or obtained marks at NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture) conducted by COA, New Delhi (www.nata.in) or JEE Paper II are eligible for admission in B-Arch course.


APTITUDE TEST (NATA)

  • Aptitude test is for finding out the applicant's basic awareness, observation potential, communication capability and drawing abilities and skills needed to pursue the learning of architecture.
  • This test covers free hand drawing, visualization, and observation, sketching from memory, color and aesthetic sensitivity, Mathematics and General Aptitude.

NASA

At National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA), Architecture Department students have participated in Five trophies and 17nos. have attended it under ZONAL NASA organized by D.Y. Patil School of Architecture, Ambi at Pune during 5th-11th Sept. 2018 viz. Reubens, Horrors of the city, Five Senses, Dance, Tape-a Tale and also participated in on the spot design event and have won First Prize in Dancewith trophy andSecond Prize in Tape-a-Tele with Trophy.





Workshops 

Architecture Department students have participated in following Workshops:

  1. Workshops at RACHANA 2019, Nagpur during 10th - 13thJanuary 2019 (on Design, Landscape, Visual Principles and Professional practices).
  2. Workshop on “Eco Friendly Wardha House Technology at CSV Campus, Wardha during 17th - 20th February 2019 (studying 6 Techniques under Appropriate Technology and Construction).


Alumni Meet Discussions Sessions

Alumni from 2K3 batch, 2K10 batch and from other batches 10 nos. alumni have attended meets and have had discussions
with the students of Architecture on 22ndDecember 2018 and 16thJanuary 2019.



Site Visits

Site visits are organized under Design and Construction subjects to visit Yogiraj Hospital, Water Treatment Plant, Ramtek
and Museum and Temple sites, Wardha;etc.



Study Tour

Study tour to study Historic and Modern Architecture was made t Delhi,Mathura,Agra,Fatehpur Sikri and Chandigarh
during15th - 21stFebruary 2019.Students have done exercises and prepared report on sites studied.



Archi -Association

In Archi- Association in all Eight competitions, Two Guest Lectures in addition to Inauguration of the Archi- Association are conducted in the session 2018-19. All the students have participated in events enthusiastically performing to the fullest. The Best Performer of the year under Art, Design and Technical Subjects are selected from amongst the exercises conducted through the year.



Placement

During 8th and 9th Semesters students are undergoing Practical Training under Professional Practicing Architects as per their choice of city in Local, State and National region. In all 30 nos. in 9th have completed training and 44 nos. are undergoing training in 8th semester.
