On 8 August 1942 at the All-India Congress Committee session in Bombay, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi launched the Quit India Movement. Finally, this movement brought Independence to our Country. Hence, the NCC KITS Unit celebrated Quit India Movement Day on 8th August from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM in Room number 230.
Dr. A. N. Shrikhande, Principal, the Chief guest, was welcomed to the venue by the pilot march of Cdt. Sarthak Mahajan and Cdt. Tushar Umar, and Dr. Snehal P. Pachpor, HOD, Electrical Engineering Department, Mr. Bhushan Deshpande, Asso. Dean, ICT, Mrs. Saroj Shambharkar, HOD, Information Technology Department, and Mr. B. Venkanna, Caretaker Officer, were welcomed with bouquets. Dignitaries, cadets, and students offered floral tributes to the Quit Indian Movement heroes.
The Chief guest recalled his college days and the difficulties faced by Indians when the Quit India Movement was on the rise and appealed to everyone to use Indian products rather than foreign ones to increase the Indian economy.
NCC Unit, KITS, Ramtek, conducted a Drawing Competition on the theme "Vocal for Local". Dignitaries declared as Cadet under Officer Devratna Sawaitul is a winner and CSGT Chirag Humne is the runner-up of all 7 cadets who participated.
Paticipants’ sang the NCC song and the National anthem. Company Sergeant Mr. Chirag Humne conducted the program. Cadet under officer Devratna Sawaitul delivered a vote of thanks. The event was a great success, with the active participation and efforts of 25 NCC cadets and aspirants under the leadership of Mr. B. Venkanna, Caretaker Officer.
