Martyrs’ Day Observed with Mega Blood Donation Camp at KITS, Ramtek
Every year, Martyrs’ Day is observed on 30th January to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Mahatma Gandhi as also in the memory of the soldiers and others who laid down their lives in India’s freedom struggle. In tribute to this solemn occasion, Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Ramtek, organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp at the institute’s Gymnasium building. A total of 87 donors, comprising the Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students, voluntarily donated blood, reflecting a strong spirit of social responsibility.
The program began with the garlanding of Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait by Principal Dr. Avinash Shrikhande, followed by the observance of two minutes of silence at 11:00 a.m. to honor the martyrs of the nation.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Dr. Ravi Bhange from Rainbow Blood Bank, Dr. Preeti Bambal of Lifeline Bloodline, Dr. Ashish Khandelwar from GSK Blood Bank, Dr. Vilas Mahatme , Dean Academic whose presence added value to the initiative.
The successful organization of the camp was made possible through the dedicated efforts and guidance of NSS Program Officer Dr. Udhal Hatwar, NCC ANO Lt. Rajat Yadav, Mr. Dinesh Joshi, Physical Training Instructor, and other staff members, who motivated and coordinated student participation.
Dean Dr. Pankaj Ashtankar formally welcomed the dignitaries and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all contributors and participants.
The NCC, NSS, and Sports Club collectively acknowledged the constant support and encouragement of the Honorable Secretary, Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad, Shri V. Srinivasa Rao, for inspiring and promoting such meaningful awareness and social welfare initiatives.
The observance of Martyrs’ Day through this noble activity reaffirmed the institute’s unwavering commitment to community service, humanitarian values, and social responsibility.
