Electronics Engineering Department

Department of Electronics was established in year 1985-86 and accredited by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi. Quality technical education is provided to the students in the area of Electronics Engineering in order to meet challenges of globalization with the well-equipped laboratories and latest software. Department has highly qualified and cooperative faculty.

COMPUTING FACILTY : Computer centre with WiFi facility for all students and staff.

DEPARTMENT LIBRARY : Separate department library for students and staff for easy reference including VCD, Project reports, reference books, journals related to Electronics.

PROJECT UNDERTAKEN : Every year batch of final year students undertake research project in association with ISRO Nagpur. Also, final year student actively participating in project competition in various colleges.

AICTE GRANTS : Department has received two MODROB AICTE grants for UHF and Digital circuits labs of Rs.10 lakhs.

ACTIVITIES/ FORUMS
1. Department has active “GATE Forum” to facilitate the preparation of GATE exam.
2. Department has “ELECTROMATIX” student forum ,activities are regularly conducted by the students.
3. Department actively organises various national conferences, STTP, workshops, etc. UTSAV-09, ECAM-13, ASAP-14, ROBOTRIYST-15, LABVIEW-16.
4. Department has E-VISION staff forum

COUNSELLING AND MENTORING : Counselling and mentoring is carried out in the department on weekly basis to sort out issues and guide them.

ACHEIVEMENTS :
1. Highest GATE score during academic session 2015-16 is 99.62 percentile by Akshay Kulkarni, Final year Electronics student.
2. Various students are working in different countries and placed with good packages in India through Training and Placement Cell.
3. Faculty in department are pursuing higher studies along with publications in reputed national and international conferences and journals.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT : Every year third year students and staff visit different industries.

E-YANTRA, ELSI LAB SETUP (IITB) : Department offers Robotics elective in final year and initiated for Lab setup for Robotics in association with IIT Bombay.

AUDIT COURSE :
1. Department initiated audit course for first year students to enhance their knowledge in Electronics field.
2. Practice session for C-language for second year is conducted in department.

About Course

Electronics engineering covers wider range of applications such as radio, sensors, telecommunication, VLSI, computer etc. the course aims at imparting knowledge of latest trends and advances in electronics field. As a part of curriculum, students are deployed into project activity which provides them with a deep understanding and implementation of principles of electronics hardware.

Several software are taught like Multisim, Microwind, programming language c, c++,hardware description language VHDL, Matlab which enable the students to be competent for core and software industries. Electronics engineers may specialize in VLSI Design, communication, control system, Nanoelectronics, Biomedical, embedded system, MEMS. Electronics has major role in different industrial sectors, research and development which provides the growth of employment opportunities.
