HELLO ALL,
It was a grand vision & mission of our beloved Late Sri V.Rajeshwar Rao, Founder Chairman, Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad to provide opportunities of technical education to the students from the rural areas of our country. So when in 1985, Late Sri P.V.Narasimha Rao, Ex-Prime Minister of India, who represented Ramtek constituency as a Member of Parliament, mentioned about the need of an Engineering College in a rural area like Ramtek, our founder Chairman readily accepted the challenge and established Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science, Ramtek on 19/09/1985. Since more than 3 decades the institute has taken giant strides and reached today's position. The Institute offers 4 year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engg., Computer Technology, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering and a 5 year B.Arch. course. It also offers 2 years Master of Technology in Engineering in Structures and Heat Power Engineering.
It is a matter of great pride that our Institute has been bestowed with a permanent affiliation status by the RTM Nagpur University for all the eligible Engineering courses namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Technology. The institute has also been granted recognition as Place for Higher Learning and Research (Research Centre) leading to Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology from the academic session 2016-17 onwards. This became possible due to the sustained support and encouragement provided by our managing society i.e. Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad as also the hard work done by the staff and the blessings from all our stakeholders, parents and the citizens of Ramtek town.
Known for quality education, discipline, eco-friendly campus, concern for society and environment, KITS has carved a niche for itself in the field of technical education in this central part of India. With a proud legacy of 36 years, the institute has excelled in every field. Many students have been in the merit lists of the RTM Nagpur University. Many have brought laurels in cultural/sports/co-curricular activities at University/State/National levels. The students who graduated from this institute are occupying prestigious positions in the organizations of national and international repute. Several alumni of our Institute are working abroad especially in USA.
Our Training and Placement Department is associated with organizations like Titans, Gurukrupa, CoCubes, Costuco, Rankjunction, Mettl, Kaabil Bano, Lemon Ideas, Careerpath Training and Million Minds for helping students to boost their training and placement opportunities. Around 230 companies visited our campus during last four academic years and more than 500 students have been placed. The college has a privilege of possessing a healthy, harmonious ambience and rich values which have played a pivotal role in shaping the future of innumerable students. Our aim is to transform the students into rational thinkers, competent technocrats and managers, law abiding citizens and spiritually enlightened individuals. This is our firm belief that the rich values and traditions imbibed here would carry our students to greater heights.
In this era of knowledge society, it is of paramount importance to be equipped with
an appropriate knowledge, habits, attitudes and morals leading to holistic
development. The students must participate in the co-curricular and extracurricular
activities to facilitate the process of creative and critical thinking. They not only
inculcate social and moral values, sportsmanship, compassion for nature, pride for
our culture and traditions and awareness for one's rights and duties but also make
students good human beings and confident leaders. I earnestly believe that our
institute provides ample opportunities for developing and shaping the personalities
of the students. It is our firm belief that 'Ayogya Purusho Nasti' which when
translated means 'No one is born incapable or incompetent'. The gist of Lord
Krishna's preaching 'Shraddhavan Labhathe Jnanam', which means 'one with
steadfast devotion attains wisdom' forms the guiding philosophy of this institute.
Our management has been generously awarding cash prizes to the meritorious
students. Our Institute has been identified as one of the Mentoring Institutes by
RTM Nagpur University to carry out the Ministry of Human Resource Development
MHRD launched 'Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan' (RAA). 'Swachcha Bharath Abhiyan'
programs are being organized by various departments, since Oct. 2014 as per the
directives of the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India/ AICTE/ University. NSS unit of our
Institute organizes special camps every year in the nearby villages to conduct
awareness program on blood donation, importance of yoga/meditation, rain water
harvesting, pollution control, saplings plantation and various aspects of ecology.
The Institute has received 'Best Infrastructure in Maharashtra' award from the All
India Technical and Management Council, New Delhi in 2014. Our Institute is one
of the recognized Remote Centers of IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur for conducting
ISTE workshops under the National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, New
Delhi. Our Institute is also associated with IIT Bombay for launching their Aakash
Project.
To be successful in life, have ambitions and set goals. Remember that only
discipline, hardwork, punctuality is the key to a blissful and successful life. I would
conclude my message with a quote from Swami Vivekananda, 'You have to grow
from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no
other teacher but your own soul ”.
