Republic Day Celebration at KITS, Ramtek
January 26 holds immense national significance as it marks the day when the Constitution of India came into force in 1950, heralding India's transformation into a sovereign republic. This historic occasion was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science. The celebrations commenced at 7:30 a.m. with students assembling in front of the Administrative Block. The National Flag was unfurled by the Principal, Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande, followed by the soulful rendition of the National Anthem, "Jan Gan Man."
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande, emphasized the enduring importance of the Constitution of India and its foundational values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. He lauded the commendable contributions of the NCC and NSS units in various social initiatives such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation programs, and the celebration of International Yoga Day. He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of faculty members in achieving excellence through NPTEL courses and acknowledged the departments for organizing seminars and workshops aimed at academic and professional development.
The Principal further applauded the students for their notable achievements in academics as well as extracurricular activities, recognizing their commitment and perseverance. On this occasion, he proudly announced the successful completion of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) as part of the NBA accreditation process, expressing confidence that this milestone would propel the institute toward greater academic excellence under the visionary and steadfast support of Hon. Secretary, Sri V. Srinivasa Rao, whose foresight and commitment to quality education continue to inspire the institutions progress.
The successful organization of the event reflected the collective efforts of Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande, Principal; Dr. Pankaj S. Ashtankar, Dean of Student Activities; Lt. Rajat Yadav, ANO, NCC, along with his team; Dr. Uddal Hatwar, Program Officer, NSS, and his team; and Mr. Dinesh Joshi, Physical Training Instructor.
The program was anchored by Ms. Shraddha Bairam, a 4th Semester student of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, who also expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students. The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets by the NSS volunteers.
