Established in the academic year 2001, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering offers a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Tech.) degree in Electronics and Communication. The department is committed to delivering high-quality education, research, and training at the undergraduate level, with a strong focus on the design and development of modern communication systems. Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant academic environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and technical excellence. Students are guided and mentored in a supportive atmosphere, enabling them to emerge as competent, innovative, and industry-ready engineers. To emerge as a center of academic excellence providing quality education in Electronics and Communication Engineering and related fields to meet global needs and standards. The department offers an undergraduate B.Tech. degree programme in since 2001 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. Graduates of our department, equipped with specializations in areas such as Electronic System Design, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Embedded Systems, and VLSI, find rewarding careers in a wide range of public and private sector organizations. These include reputed institutions like Intel, Texas Instruments, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Indian Telephone Industries, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), National Physical Laboratory (NPL), All India Radio (AIR), Civil Aviation, and Police Wireless Services. from the academic year 2025 (intake of 60 seats) with intent to provide a good opportunity to the aspirants those are inclined more
towards core Electronics Engineering but having a zeal to learn the learn aspects of Computer Science and Engineering.
This program is a bridge between two powerful fields of technology and engineering. The aspirants of this program gets promising opportunity
to gain knowledge of both electronics (hardware, circuits, embedded systems) and computer science (software, algorithms, AI, data science) which makes
the aspirants versatile and able to work in both hardware and software industries. This field has Diverse Career Opportunities and have openings
in VLSI design, chip manufacturing, robotics, embedded systems, IoT, AI, cloud computing, networking, and cybersecurity
and have demand in in IT companies, electronics industries, research centers, and startups. Departmental library consists of 418 books, 13 journals, 19 proceedings of conferences/ workshop and 25 CDs for the ready reference of students. It also contains, the project reports and case study reports of previous year students are also available in the departmental library. e-Yantra Project is an initiative by IIT Bombay that aims to create the next generation of embedded systems engineers with a practical outlook to help provide practical solutions to some of the real world problems. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) sponsors e-Yantra under the National Mission for ICT in Education (NMEICT) program. Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has taken an initiative to setup e-Yantra Robotics Lab under e-Yantra Lab Set-up Initiative(eLSI) by IIT Bombay. The e-Yantra Robotics Lab trains the students in embedded systems and micro-controller programming by engaging them through the Project Based Learning mode. Under the AICTE–ISTE sponsorship, a Six-Day Online Induction Program on Recent Trends in Embedded Systems (RTES) was conducted in three phases:The program covered cutting-edge developments in embedded systems, preparing participants for academic and industrial roles. UTSAV’09 – A National Conference on Universal Trends in Signal Processing and VLSI Technologies, held on 28–29 December 2009. ICTC 2013 – The First International Conference on Telecommunication and Computing, conducted from 18–20 December 2013, brought together global experts for interdisciplinary collaboration. A 3-Day Short Term Training Program on Latest Advancements in Antenna Design featured expert sessions by Dr. Narasimha Sarma N.V.S., Director, IIIT Tiruchirappalli, and focused on current antenna technologies. Sessions in collaboration with Fire Blaze Technology and E-Tantra introduced students to emerging career fields such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, PCB Design, and Renewable Energy Awareness. Workshops on Industrial Automation, IoT, PLCs, Sensors, and Ladder Programming bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications. In alignment with the Fit India Movement, the department organized a 3-Day Heartfulness Meditation Workshop, emphasizing mental wellness and mindfulness. The department hosted a specialized webinar on academic writing tools, featuring EndNote for reference management and Origin for data visualization. Students from nearby schools frequently visit the department as part of academic tours. These visits offer hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art facilities including the Electronics Workshop, Embedded Systems Lab, IoT Lab, and Seminar Halls. Career guidance sessions and expert talks are regularly conducted to help students explore diverse career paths in core electronics, IT services, research, and entrepreneurship. Electromatix was established with the primary objective of fostering the holistic development of students in the Electronics and Communication Engineering department. Ashtankar is appointed as Reviewer for the conference of the Department of CS, BHU Varanasi is organizing the 3rd International Conference on Advanced Network Technologies and Intelligent Computing (ANTIC-2023) in hybrid mode from 20th to 22nd December 2023. The proceedings of the conference will be published in Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series of Springer [SCOPUS Indexed]. Dr. Pankaj S. Ashtankar worked as Observer for Zonal level Avishkar 2024 held at RCERT chandrapur on 26th November 2023 Dr. Pankaj S. Ashtankar worked as faculty coordinator for coordinating inter collegiate IETE quiz Competition on 7th Nov 2023 Dr. Pankaj S.
