KITS, Ramtek
Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science, Ramtek is a private, un-aided Institution run by Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad, established to provide quality technical education to rural students. The foundation stone was laid by former Prime Minister Late Sri P. V. Narsimha Rao on 19/09/1985. At his insistence, Late Sri V. Rajeshwara Rao, a philanthropist and visionary, established this institute in the rural town of Ramtek [dist. Nagpur, Maharashtra].
The Institute is known for its discipline, quality education, and social and environmental commitment. It is permanently affiliated with Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) and offers B.Tech., B.Arch., M.Tech., and Ph.D. programs.
The campus spans 48.96 acres of lush green land. It was awarded 'Best Infrastructure in Maharashtra' by the All India Technical and Management Council in 2014 and has received an 'A' Grade from the Maharashtra Government twice. The institute has been accredited by NBA and NAAC with 'A' Grade.
Facilities include 41 classrooms, 65 laboratories, seminar halls, ICT rooms, a central library with 63,000+ books, sports grounds, a gym, hostels, and amenities like a bank, ATM, post office, and canteen. Wi-Fi with 200 Mbps leased line is available campus-wide.
The Training & Placement Cell organizes industrial visits, technical events, and skill development programs. The institute promotes research, creativity, and social awareness through NSS, NCC, cultural events, and eco-friendly initiatives like solar energy and rainwater harvesting.
