35th Annual Day Function at KITS,Ramtek
The 35th Annual Day Function of the Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Ramtek was celebrated in Silver Jubilee Conference Hall on 13th April 2026. The ceremony began with the lamp lighting by the Chief Guest, Dr. Atul Narayan Vaidya, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University, Nagpur. The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Secretary, Voddithala Education Society, Shri V. Srinivasa Rao, Principal, Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande, Dean (Academic), Dr. Vilas P. Mahatme, Dean (Student Activity), Dr. Pankaj S. Ashtankar, Convener Dr. E. Siva Prasad, Student Representative Mr. Vinod Metta, Heads of Departments, Deans, Faculty Members and Students.
Dr. Atul Narayan Vaidya, in his speech, advised the students to shape their career by preparing for national level examinations such as GATE, CAT, CSIR, and IAS. He also emphasized that every student should contribute to the vision of Vikasit Bharat. Furthermore, he highlighted that the future of the world lies in the integration of environment, economics and technology, which are closely connected to core engineering—an area that is somewhat being neglected due to the growing focus on software.
The Chief Guest further remarked that India is a nation of youth and emphasized the need for young minds to work collectively towards making the country self-reliant and developed. He urged students to actively participate in the fields of innovation, research, and industry. He also stressed the importance of mastering fundamental knowledge while effectively utilizing modern tools such as Artificial Intelligence.
Hon’ble Secretary of the Institute, Shri V. Srinivasa Rao, stated that the organization is committed to providing facilities for the overall development of the students and is steadfast in its efforts to realize the vision of the Hon’ble Founder Chairman of the institute, late Sri V. Rajeshwar Rao. In his presidential address, he further stated that an amount of approximately Rs. 71/- lakhs has been expended during the academic year 2025–26 towards the upgradation of various laboratories, in the Departments, renovation works in the Civil Engineering and Computer Technology Departments, modernization of the Examination Section, and refurbishment of the Kalidas Seminar Hall, as well as for the purchase of computers and other equipments across various departments.
Principal, Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande said that with the efforts of all faculty members, the Institute is attaining newer heights during the presentation of his Annual Report. During the ceremony, 117 meritorious students were honoured with medals, certificates and cash awards, and also 36 faculty members were felicitated on their achievements and given cash incentives.
Dr. E. Siva Prasad introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. Atul Narayan Vaidya. Mrs. Anjali Narad hosted the ceremony, while Ms. Jaswini Gullapalli and Mr. Sanskar Murle conducted the prize distribution. Dr. Vilas P. Mahatme proposed the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
In the evening, a cultural programme titled “SOFFI 2K26”, presented by the Cultural Club, showcased the spirit of freedom and national integration, highlighting the rich cultural unity in diversity through vibrant student performances.
