80th Independence Day Celebration
The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and a strong sense of national pride at Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Ramtek, on Saturday, 15th August 2026.
The celebration commenced with the soulful rendition of “Vande Mataram”, which created an atmosphere of patriotism and unity among the gathering. This was followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande, in the presence of faculty members, staff, and students. The gathering paid its respect to the National Flag with great pride and honour.
In his address, the Principal extended his warm wishes on the occasion of Independence Day and highlighted the significance of freedom, national unity, discipline, and collective responsibility in the progress of the nation. He also emphasized contributions of various department for conducting different activities and also highlighted the importance of students contributing positively to the development of a strong, self-reliant, and progressive India.
The celebration featured patriotic activities and the NCC March Past, which added grandeur and spirit to the occasion. The participation of students, faculty members, and staff reflected the institute’s commitment to fostering patriotism, discipline, and social responsibility among its students.
The successful conduct of the programme was made possible through the sincere efforts and coordination of the Dean (Student Activities), NCC Unit, NSS Unit, Department of Physical Education, Cultural Club, faculty members, staff, and student volunteers.
The programme concluded on a solemn and patriotic note with the collective rendition of the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana”, with all attendees standing in respect and honour of the nation. The Principal gratefully acknowledged the pivotal role of the Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad , and especially the continuous support and motivation of the Honourable Secretary, Sri. V. Srinivasa Rao without which the institutes progress would not have been possible The program proceedings were conducted by Ms. Payal Urkude , a third year student of the Computer Technology Department. The highlight of the event was the NCC March Past, led by junior Under Officer Jaswini Gullapalli, followed by Troop Commander Junior Under Officer Adarsh Thakarele and Company Quarter Master Sergeant Nishant Singh. The celebration not only fostered a spirit of unity and patriotism but also served as a reminder of our collective responsibility to uphold the values and ideals of our nation.
