Applied Sciences And Humanities Department

The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities (ASH) comprises Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Communication Skills and Indian Culture and Constitution. The Department provides an inclusive environment for everyone by integrating a range of education, research, and other opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills to achieve their scientific and technical ambition.

The Department acts as a bridge between the basic sciences and engineering procedures. Faculty in Applied sciences and humanities offers high-quality basic courses to first-year undergraduate students to make them over to their concerned engineering disciplines for completing their required credits. Faculty members are highly qualified, rich in experience to cater to the needs of budding engineers, actively engaged in research work, participatedinNationalandInternationalConferences/Workshop’s/STTP’s/FDP’s/Webinars, and have published more than 136 research papers in various journals of repute and UGC approved journals. Faculty members participated in the University activities such as members of BOS, Curriculum workshops, examination/valuation section, etc.

Faculty members are also recognized as research supervisors from RTM Nagpur University and Gondwana University to guide the research scholars to obtain Ph.D. degrees in their respective fields. Faculty members of the department are also the in-charges/members for NCC, NSS, Mathematics Club, and Literary Club to provide additional guidance for the overall personality development of the students.

Applied Mathematics :

  • Faculty members have Published 40 research papers in various journals of National and International repute.
  • Two faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees from reputed Universities.
  • Offers basic and advanced courses in mathematics to the students of all branches for the respective specialization with close interaction with various Engineering departments.
  • Spherically symmetric space-time in the general theory of relativity.
  • The role and applications of Queuing Models in engineering and Management.
  • Optimization Technique.
  • Gravitational repulsion in the general theory of relativity.

Applied Physics :

  • Caters to the needs of the teaching of Applied Physics and Advanced Engineering Materials.
  • Well-equipped laboratories with up-to-date facilities required for undergraduate level courses as per RTM Nagpur University syllabus.
  • The Solid-State Physics Laboratory has modern instruments.
  • The Optics Lab is equipped with He-Ne LASER and a “Light propagation in Optical Fibers” demonstration kit in addition to other usual equipment.
  • Prof. P.M.Pokley, Asso.Professor & Registrar have authored textbooks on Engg. Physics.
  • The faculty members are actively engaged in the research work.
  • Faculty members have Around nearly 25 research papers have been published in National and International Journals/conferences.

Applied Chemistry :

  • Caters to the needs of the teaching of Energy and Environment and Applied Chemistry with all sophisticated instruments and standard glassware to enable the students to perform experiments and enhance analytical skills.
  • Dr.K.Gajanan, Asso.Professor & Head has been recognized as a Ph.D. supervisor from RTMNU, Nagpur.
  • Faculty members have published about 30 research papers in various National and International Journals.


Humanities: Communications Skills, & Indian Culture, and Constitution

  • Presently Mr. Prakash Janardan Kasture, Visiting Professor, teaching B.Tech. students of Ist and VIth and putting efforts in to the overall personality development of Engineers and Architects, published 7 Books on Student Counseling, Marathi Poems, English Grammar, and News Paper Cuttings.
  • This branch has established a Communications Lab which offers training to students as well as staff in Communication skills, Public speaking, Business English, Interviewing Skills, etc.
  • The faculty members are actively engaged in the research work.
  • Faculty members have Published 25 research papers in various journals of National and International of repute.
